Simple Math

Lots of diversity posts going on these days. Lots of discussions about inter-racial dating, what's black, what's not. Who's black, who isn't. Lot's of black women happy Obama married a black woman. Lot's of black women angry when they see a black man with a non-black woman. Lot's of black women not willing to date or marry a non-black man. Lots of black women mad because there aren't enough "good black men" to go around for them, let alone share with the rest of the world. Lots of black men unwilling to date a non-black woman for fear of being a sell-out.

Most black folks still agree if you look black, you are black. So I say, do your part to create as many black folks as possible!

White man + white woman * 3 kids = 3 white kids
Black man + black woman * 3 kids = 3 black kids
Asian man + asian woman * 3 kids = 3 asian kid

Black man + white woman * 3 kids = 3 black kids
White man + black woman * 3 kids = 3 black kids
Asian man + black woman * 3 kids = 3 black kids
Black man + asian woman * 3 kids = 3 black kids

If every black person reproduces with a non-black person, soon there will be no non-black people left. At least... not very many!

..........What will divide us then?

The math doesnt add up anymore.

Black and other pairings no longer means black kids, (I never looked at them that way).

And the longer Obama and other notable swirly celebs stay in the media light the less weight that one drop rule has.

Just one big beige planet, and that sounds pretty damn boring to me.

Best believe that man will find something to devide themselves, it's in our nature.

Mixing wont stop that.

Really? According to blackflix.com the following musicians / actors are all "mixed" with something. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure they are all accepted in the black community as just "black":

Alicia Keys
Boris Kodjoe
Bob Marley
Cree Summer
Faith Evens
Ertha Kitt
Halle Berry
Jimi Hendrix
Lenny Kravitz
Lisa Bonet
Malcom X
Mariah Carey
Michael Michelle
Shemar Moore
Smokey Robinson
Tamara Taylor
Tatiana Ali
Thandie Newton
Tina Tuner
Tiger Woods
Tyson Beckford
Vin Diesel (you all know how much I love him, yum)

Oh and Coby Bell...

There only 1 that surprised me was Wentworth Miller.. but I never watched Prison Break. Did you know his dad was black?

There is a difference in what we accept, what others reject, and who the subject wants to be.

If you gave a mixed child a choice with no strings attached in a perfect world he would choose to be himself and not pick one side over the other.

But that doesnt get to happen enough because other peole will see that one drop rule as a mark against them and black people keep an open door policy.

The shift in that view has been slowly coming about, and the moment Obama became President people especially in the media have made it a point to point out that he not all black.

But regardless there are always going to be something to devide us.

But what's wrong with stopping at the division by; good vs. evil?

Don't they call this eugenics just from a different or reverse view from that of the 1930's?

@uglyblackjohn,

"But what's wrong with stopping at the division by; good vs. evil?"

Because the other side is always claiming to be good and that it is the other who is evil.

Before the beligiums colonized Rawanda the Hutus and Tutsi were devided because one tribe was taller than the other.

That my friend is man's nature for conflict at it's best.

What will divide us? Religion, money, geographic location..etc etc etc..

MONEY is the great divider.
Money divides and conquers.
Money is the root of all evil.

Money will divide us. When you strip away color, when you strip away religion, the only think left is MONEY.

As for my children, they consider themseles AMERICAN.

When they check the box for race, they check OTHER. If you can fill in a space, they write AMERICAN. If "they" want specifics, they write that they are descendants of African and Irish slaves.

Money, money, money, money....mo-neeyyy...thats what is going to divide us.

I'll admit this post was a little bit of a jest. I really have no interest in all of us being the same or eliminating one race or another.

In a better world we would appreciate each other and spend more time complimenting the good qualities in the people we do know instead of generalizing the bad qualities of people we don't.

I take personal responsibility for the love and the hate that I put into the world, including this blog. No matter what your race, gender, sexual orientation, religous views or lack of, political views or lack of, you are my people - and I love you all!
